In North Yorkshire we often get requests for a "Floor for the Night" (where a colony, pack, troop or even a patrol can stay with the minimum facities of toilets, kitchen, running water and a roof over their heads).

IMPORTANT NOTE: Whilst North Yorkshire Scouts can neither 'endorse' any of these accommodations nor have we 'vetted' them for suitability, we can try to put you in touch with a local contact who can explain what is available and the likely cost.

For your information and help, the Scout Association do two very good factsheets which are available free of charge on the National Website at www.scouts.org.uk. These two factsheets are worth reading before embarking on a 'Floor for the Night' expedition and explain in easy terms 'effective risk assessments', 'fire precautions' and having 'well defined emergency procedures' in the unlikely event that something were to go wrong.
