You could apply for grants from the Development Grants Board towards the cost of delivering training courses and the purchase of training equipment?

The King George VI Memorial Fund can be applied to for grants towards the training of both adult volunteers and young leaders.

The fund contributes primarily towards course fees and/or training equipment, and is administered by the Development Grants Board.

For more info click here.

Have you opened a new youth section recently,
or are you looking to start a new one soon?

Make sure you apply for the Start Up Grant from the Development Grants Board, funded by the Freemasons Grand Charity.

The grant of £100 is available to new sections that are opened, not Groups, so if you open a new Group with a Beaver Colony and Cub Pack, that is 2 separate grants of £100 each! Supplementary grants may also be available for recipients of a Start Up Grant to support first year membership fees.

County have recently agreed to increase their grant to new sections to match the HQ grant, so a new section can be awarded £200 altogether. Once you've been accepted to receive the HQ grant send a copy of your confirmation letter to County Office and you'll receive a cheque for a further £100 per new section.

More information on the Start Up Grant and other grants, including how to apply, is available in the Members Resources which can be found here or by contacting the Scout Information Centre on 0845 300 18 18.  There is a new application form for start up Grants - click here
