Member Support Officer (Activities & Events)

This includes managing bookings for a range of events and activities, collating information from attendees, and providing customer service support via email.
The County holds regular activity days for Scouts groups to attend, for example water activity days.
We also run major camps and events for all sections, the largest of which can accommodate over 1,000 participants.
This role will be providing the much-needed administrative support for our volunteers who are organising these activities and events. This role may also require correspondence with external suppliers.

Member Support Officer (Finance Administration)

This role will be responsible for the bookkeeping, with support from our volunteers.
This will include processing membership expenses claims, and managing the key regular payments, such as utilities, insurance and service contracts with external suppliers.
The role will also be facilitating online banking payments, and physical banking where needed.
The postholder will be working alongside our County Treasurer, who is a volunteer on our trustee board, and our volunteers who coordinate the strategic financial decisions.
Our County’s Finances are governed via our Finance Committee, which meets quarterly.
The postholder will attend these meetings, providing key financial reporting for our trustees and Lead Volunteers.
They will also act as the meeting’s secretary.

Member Support Officer (Communications)

A key part of this role will be engaging with our volunteers and young people to identify good news stories and campaigns to share across our County.
This may include visiting sessions and events, and establishing and maintaining relationships with our volunteers.
The postholder will also be helping to promote the County’s own activities and events, such as our large-scale camps.
This will be through gathering of good stories and visual content after events have been held to be shared across social media and internal comms.
The post holder will need to be able to clearly communicate what information they need and how to gather this, to our members, who typically have a wide-ranging ability for content creation.
This role may also require providing hands-on training and support for our Groups and Districts, who produce their own regular membership updates also.
